Academics | Middle School | The American School in Japan
Sixth Grade Mathematics at the American School in Japan is taught by Ms. Allen and Mr. Fincher. Our curriculum is centered on the Connected Mathematics Project (CMP), which is a series that covers the middle grades. In addition, students in our classes will work on projects and investigations that reflect our individual interests in mathematics and provide students deeper insights into their studies. CMP has been rated number one by Project 2061 of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. You can read the full report on the Project 2061 web site. The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) Mathematics and Science Expert Panel ranked the program as "Exemplary." The press release is on the DOE site and the full text of the report is on the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse web site.
